The De Beers Global Sightholder Summit hosted an eclectic range of conversations, interactions, discussions and insights which rejuvenated the Industry at the time most needed.

The unique setting of an important key summit opening at the Vergelegen Wine Estate was a refreshing way to engage the attendees, foster an atmosphere of creative stress free dialogues, and promote a relaxed yet productive atmosphere.

The industry was made to feel not just a UNIT, a Giant Global FAMILY.

The day also involved a series of authentic speeches and presentations. Opening by David Prager, Chief Brand Officer, De Beers Group; Reflections from the Past by Bruce Cleaver, Chairman De Beers Group; Welcome note and Lessons from Present by Duncan Wanblad, CEO, Anglo American and by Paul Rowley, Executive Vice President, Diamond Trading, De Beers Group; Future by Al Cook, CEO, De Beers Group; Future Economy by Andrew Busch. These industry leaders shared information on De Beers’ vision for the industry going forward. It was a series of inspiring conversations that undoubtedly lead the way for the diamond and mining industry globally.

A special mention to the climax of the Summit : The De Beers Group Marine Operations Event. This adrenalin rush experience to Journey to the Earths Majestic Treasures was exhilarating and a moment of pure awe and miracle emphasizing the beauty and wonder of a Natural Diamond.

Under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharatrat, Gujarat is paired with Chhattisgarh.

Surat having been the world’s biggest diamond industry since the early 1960s, it was a natural inclusion for the team from Chhattisgarh to visit this largest market for diamond polishing, cutting, and crafting.

We proudly announce that last week, HVK International was honoured to host 15 personnel from the Chhattisgarh Police Team to represent not only the largest diamond industry in the world but also the rich heritage, work, and social culture, customs, and traditions of the people of Surat.

The Chhattisgarh Police officers spent almost an entire day touring HVK, interacting with the team and employees, and trying to truly understand the difference in culture and day-to-day living in Gujarat in comparison to Chhattisgarh.

It was indeed a remarkable and exhilarating experience for people of both states, fostering a sense of common identity as Indians.

Our Chairman, HVK International, Shri Nagjibhai Sakariya, a key panellist, highlighted the importance of the current opportunity to enter Dubai and expand. HVK International holds a key office in Dubai. Nagjibhai firmly believes in quality of life, attractive trade policies, centralised time zones, and safety. This facilitates ease of trade and the growth of any business within Dubai.

In the panel discussion on how to expand your business in Dubai and beyond, Shri Nagjibhai reiterated that DMCC, the UAE’s largest free trade zone, supports commodity trading through organisations such as the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), the Dubai Pearl Exchanges (DPE), DMCC Trade Flow, and the Dubai Good Delivery Standard (DGD) for gold. Therefore, there are opportunities for expansion, especially for the gems and jewellery industry in India.

He humbly affirmed that the DMCC, with all its unmatched features for trade, is an example of the support the Dubai government offers to the global growth of trade and commerce for Indian business leaders.
